Privacy guidelines

The BCN, in accordance with its vision-mission of strengthening democracy and citizen participation in Chile, offers users the use of this website’s information and documents relating to the Asia-Pacific. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:  documents, multimedia, laws, presidential speeches, books and magazines.

Access to this information is free and requires no prior registration of visitors. The information contained in the Recomendados section – the legislation site (laws, decrees, treaties, etc.) shall not be considered official, whereas the Diario Oficial is the only official Congressional record and therefore only documents published in it shall be considered official.

The BCN reserves the right to manage, create and modify the contents of said site’s information, presentation and the services offered.  Content may be subject to scheduled or unscheduled changes.  Changes may occur without prior notice to users.

Use of Personal Data

When the Asia Pacific website of the Library of Congress (BCN) requests personal data from users (name, e-mail address, occupation, etc., said data’s use shall be limited to statistical and specific purposes, such as site use studies, subscription to special electronic services, assistance to events, and/or registration for delivery of information.  The BCN shall, at all times, use said data judiciously and in the user’s best interest.

Content accuracy

The BCN makes every effort, as an institution, to publish site content which is as accurate and up-to-date as possible. In the event that BCN site content or information is published with unintentional errors or involves faulty files or formats, the Library shall make every effort to rectify said situations as soon as possible.

Similarly, the BCN is not responsible for outside sites which link to the BCN site.  Content, errors, technical problems or failures of any kind at said sites is not the responsibility of the BCN.

Having read and understood this disclaimer, visitors to our websites hereby declare that they are in agreement that the BCN is not liable for any inaccuracies on its website.  Users hereby accept that the use of links to third party content is done so at the risk of the user and the creator of said third party sites.  Users also hereby agree to the Use of Personal Data policy described herein.
